Three Petrels Make All-SCAC Team

Three players from the 2010 Oglethorpe baseball team received All-SCAC honors Thursday night. J.J Rizzo, Stephen Archer and Matthew Cornwell were the Petrels to receive the honor.

Senior J.J. Rizzo was selected as an All-SCAC third baseman. For the season, he is hitting .346 with five home runs and 35 RBIs, and is tied for eighth in the conference with 55 hits.

Senior Stephen Archer was selected as an All-SCAC outfielder. He is hitting .338 with seven home runs and 37 RBIs. He has a .410 on-base percentage and a .568 slugging percentage.

Junior Matthew Cornwell was selected as an All-SCAC pitcher. He has been all over the conference leaderboard this season. Cornwell is first in the conference in complete games (5), tied for second in wins (7), third in innings pitched (64 2/3), and fourth in strikeouts (58).

Cornwell is also a standout shortstop for the Petrels, and is tied for fourth in the league in stolen bases with 18.
