Former Oglethorpe and Trinity Baseball Greats Face Off in Minor Leagues

This past spring Daniel Sarisky of Oglethorpe and Evan Bronson of Trinity were pitching against each other in NCAA Division III Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference games. Now, just a few months later, the two have faced each other as members of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals and Houston Astros.

Both Sarisky and Bronson are currently playing in the New York-Penn Minor Leagues and last night they each entered the game as pitchers facing one another in the game's 6th inning. Sarisky, owned by the Astros, took the hill for the Tri-City Valleycats while Bronson, owned by the Nationals, pitched for the Vermont Lake Monsters.

Perhaps comforted by seeing an old opponent on the field, both pitchers fared well in their outings. Sarisky pitched 2 innings, allowed only one hit and struck out 3 while lowering his ERA to 3.60 in the process. Bronson pitched 2 and 2/3 innings, allowed just one hit and struck out one. He lowered his ERA to a sparkling .56 number for the season.
