Basketball Tips Off With Saturday Night Madness

The 2010-2011 men's and women's basketball seasons are on the brink of tipping off and the teams will showcase a "Madness" exhibition this Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. on Pinholster Court to ceremoniously begin the campaign.

Both teams will be introduced at 9:00 p.m. after which there will be a three-point shooting contest that culminates with the men's team winner squaring off with the women's team winner to determine the campus champion. The three-point shootout will be followed by intra-squad scrimmages for both teams and will provide Petrel fans a first glimpse of both squads heading into the season. The scheduled festivities also include performances by the OU Cheerleaders, the OU Dance Team and Khayos.

The men officially begin their season on Monday night at home against LaGrange at 7:00 p.m.while the women get underway at Emory on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
