Men's Basketball Finishes Regular Season with Road Defeat at Berry The Oglethorpe men's basketball team closed out its regular season with a 69-58 defeat against the in-state rival Berry Vikings Saturday night in Mount Berry, dropping the team to 14-11 overall and 8-6 in SAA play to finish the campaign. It did not affect their seeding in the upcoming SAA Tournament, though, as the Stormy Petrels were locked into the No. 3 seed entering Saturday night's contest. Men's Basketball Falls at Centre in Tight One Despite Huge Second Half Comeback The Oglethorpe men's basketball team mounted a valiant comeback against the Centre Colonels Sunday afternoon in Danville, Kentucky, storming back from a 20-point deficit with just under 13 minutes remaining to a 1-point deficit with 13 seconds to go. However, Centre was able to hold off the Stormy Petrels over the game's final seconds to secure a 70-67 win. Men's Basketball Suffers Tough Night at Sewanee, Falls 81-46 The Oglethorpe men's basketball team had a tough night Friday in Tennessee, trailing by as many as 36 points en route to an 81-46 defeat to the homestanding Sewanee Tigers. The Stormy Petrels shot just 31 percent from the field while the Tigers connected on 53 percent of their total shots and 43 percent from 3-point range.
