Men Stumble to 8th Place Finish at Royal Lakes

The Oglethorpe University men's golf team finished in eighth place at the annual Royal Lakes Fall Classic hosted by the Stormy Petrels. The tournament featured the top seven ranked teams in the country and was won by No. 1 ranked Methodist University.

Oglethorpe struggled on a few particualr holes and posted uncommon big numbers to lead to the eighth place result. The Petrels were led by senior Scott Pugh who carded rounds of 76-70 for a 146 total that was good for a tie for 14th place.
 
Sophomore Craig Stevenson carded 148 for a tie for 25th place finish and junior Matt Rebitch posted a 151 to finish in a tie for 30th place. Sophomores Matt Bernstein (tie for 54th) and Michael Hicks (tied for 57th) rounded out the Petrels competing in the field.

The Royal Lakes Fall Classic concludes the fall season and Oglethorpe will be back in action this spring on February 29th when the Petrels compete in the prestigious Callaway Collegiate Classic in Pine Mountain, Georgia.
