Royal Lakes Set to Host Oglethorpe Fall Event

On Monday and Tuesday October 19th and 20th Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club welcomes the NCAA Division III defending National Champions Oglethorpe University and fifteen other outstanding academic institutions from all over the country.

The field is set and includes the top seven ranked NCAA Division III teams in the latest Golfstat Poll www.golfstat.com and eight of the top 10 teams. #1 ranked Methodist University (winner of the inaugural in 2006), #2 ranked Greensboro (NC) College, #3 ranked Guilford (NC) College (the 2007 Royal Lakes champion), #4 Huntingdon (AL) College, the host school and defending Royal Lakes Champions, #5 ranked Oglethorpe University, #6 Southwestern (TX), #7 Rhodes College (TN), and #10 Emory University.
 
Six other teams participating are ranked in the Top 30 nationally making the field one of the year's deepest fields. The rest of the field includes California Lutheran, Centre College, Maryville College (TN), and DePauw University (IN). Three other state of Georgia teams round out the field including Berry College, Piedmont College, and LaGrange College.
 
Head professional Reno Ronci and his staff are proudly displaying the 2009 NCAA Championship Trophy, team pictures, flags from the NCAA course, and the other items from the 2009 championship in the Royal Lakes Golf Shop for the month of October.
