Men's Golf Finishes in 12th Place at Jekyll Island

The No. 5 ranked Oglethorpe University men's golf team finished in 12th place at the 2010 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational that concluded late Sunday afternoon.

The Stormy Petrels fired a final round of 313 to finish the three day event with a 917 (+53) total, 53 strokes off the pace set by tournament winner and No. 1 ranked Methodist University.

Individually, Craig Stevenson posted the best three-day total for Oglethorpe, finishing in a tie for 20th place with a total of 225 (+9). Freshman Eric Quinn matched Stevenson's 225 total and also finished in a tie for 20th while senior Scott Pugh carded a total of 231 (+15) to finish in a tie for 54th. Matt Rebitch posted a total of 237 (+21) to finish in a tie for 82nd and Jordan Hall rounded out the Petrels' totals with a 245 (+29) that placed him ina tie for 105th.

The No. 5 Stormy Petrels are back in action this coming weekend when they head to Jacksonville, North Carolina to compete in the prestigious Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Invatational.
