The No. 5 ranked Oglethorpe University men's golf team finished in fourth place at the Emory Spring Invitational that concluded yesterday. The Petrels posted a two-day team total of 615 to finish 13 strokes off the pace set by tournament winner Greensboro College.
The fourth place result among the 17 teams competing moved Oglethorpe into 5th place in the critical Golfstat standings. Sophomore Craig Stevenson led the charge by finishing in a tie for 6th with a two-day total of 150. Freshman Eric Quinn came home in a tie for 11th (77-75: 152) and senior Scott Pugh (76-79: 155) finished tied for 20th. Junior Matt Rebitch (82-77: 159) recorded a tie for 37th place result and senior Michael Hicks (83-78: 161) wound up in a tie for 48th.
Sophomore Jordan Hall competed as an individual and posted a total of 156, good for a tie for 24th place finish. Freshman Tyler Herndon also competed as an individual and carded a 167 which was good for a tie for 71st place result.
The Petrels are off until hosting the 2010 SCAC Championships at Stone Mountain April 23-25.
