Centre and Southwestern Men, DePauw Women Claim 2010 SCAC Golf Titles

The 2010 SCAC Golf Championships came to a conclusion on Sunday evening with the Centre College men and Southwestern men tying and DePauw University women claiming the respective titles. Oglethorpe's Katie Dale (pictured) captured 7th place.

Centre led wire-to-wire but had to go to the tiebreaker (5th score each day) to earn the automatic qualifier after the Colonels and Pirates of Southwestern finished in a flat-footed tie at 926 strokes for the tournament. The teams will be listed as 2010 Co-Champions. Rhodes took third place and Oglethorpe finished in fourth. Individually, Centre's Chris Morris capped a spectacular weekend with a Round Three 72 to finish seven strokes ahead of Southwestern's Ricky Jones.

The DePauw women chased down Centre College on Day Three to erase a deficit and win over the Colonels by five strokes. Southwestern finished seven strokes off the pace in third and Rhodes captured fourth place. Individually, Stephanie Mingos took home medalist honors with a three day total of 236 to best Kristen Davenport of Southwestern who shot 244.
