Golfers Finish in 6th Place at 2010 Championships

The men's golf  team finished tied for 6th place at the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Petrels could not make a move on the field in the final round as Methodist prevailed over Guilford by one stroke.

Freshman Eric Quinn was the highest finishing Petrel, coming home in a tie for 31st after posting a four-day total of 300 (+13). Senior Scott Pugh carded a total of 301 (+14) to finish in a tie for 35th while junior Matt Rebitch posted a 302 (+15) for a tied for 42nd place result. Sophomore Craig Stevenson finished in a tie for 55th with a total of 306 (+19) and classmate Jordan Hall posted a 311 (+24) to come home in a tie for 80th.

The Stormy Petrels entered the field ranked as the number 6 team in the nation by both Golfstat and the Nike / Golf World Magazine polls and played right to that expectation at the Tournament. Oglethorpe will be back in action this September.
