The men's golf team finished tied for 6th place at the 2010 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Petrels could not make a move on the field in the final round as Methodist prevailed over Guilford by one stroke.
Freshman Eric Quinn was the highest finishing Petrel, coming home in a tie for 31st after posting a four-day total of 300 (+13). Senior Scott Pugh carded a total of 301 (+14) to finish in a tie for 35th while junior Matt Rebitch posted a 302 (+15) for a tied for 42nd place result. Sophomore Craig Stevenson finished in a tie for 55th with a total of 306 (+19) and classmate Jordan Hall posted a 311 (+24) to come home in a tie for 80th.
The Stormy Petrels entered the field ranked as the number 6 team in the nation by both Golfstat and the Nike / Golf World Magazine polls and played right to that expectation at the Tournament. Oglethorpe will be back in action this September.
