Rebitch Named Division III All-America Scholar
Oglethorpe University men's golfer Matthew Rebitch of Delmont, Pennsylvania has been selected as a 2010 Division III Cleveland Golf / Srixon All-America Scholar by the Golf Coaches Association of America. He is one of only 38 student-athletes nationwide to receive the distinction.
To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar
status an individual must be a junior or senior academically and
compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level,
participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or
compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke average under 79.0
in Division III and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point
average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character
and be in good standing at his college or university.
Rebitch (pictured below), a dual-degree major in Engineering,
carries a 3.5 GPA. He competed for Oglethorpe at the 2010 NCAA
Division III Men's Golf Championships in Hershey, Penn. last week
and secured a tied for 42nd place finish. This fall,
Rebitch earned medalist honors at the 2009 Rhodes Fall Classic
after posting successive rounds of 69-73 for a tournament total of
2-under par.
