Potts Wins Georgia Section Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship
David Potts, Oglethorpe University men's golf assistant coach and Country Club of the South pro, won the 2009 Georgia Section Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship on Monday at White Columns Country Club in Milton, GA.
Potts posted a final-round 70 for a tournament total of 138 and
a 2-stroke victory over Chris Nicol of Towne Lake Hills Golf Club.
Nicol along with Greg Lee of Chicopee Woods Golf Course will join
Potts at the PGA Assistant Championship in early October.
The 120-man field for this year's 33rd edition of the PGA Assistant
Championship consists of the 2008 Champion, if eligible and the
assistants from a weighted average of total entries of the 41 PGA
Sections.
The winner of the 2009 Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Championship
earns $9,000 out of a purse of $100,000. Top-70 finishers after the
second round, including ties will make the cut.
