The Oglethorpe University men's golft team captured a tied for third place finish at the 2009 Greensboro Inivtational. Playing in a field that featured many of the nation's elite, Oglethorpe fired consecutive team rounds of 298-294 for a 592 total at 16-over par that tied the Petrels with Guilford College. The Methodist Monarchs won the event.
Matt Rebitch posted rounds of 70-72 to finish 2-under par and in a tie for third place overall. Sophomore Matt Berstein carded rounds of 77-71 for a 4-over par total that was good for a 16th place finish and Craig Stevenson finished one stroke behind Bernstein for a tied for 17th place result.
Freshman Eric Quinn finished at 9-over par for a tied for 29th place finish and Jordan Hall came home in a tie for 50th place to round out the scoring Petrels in the event.

With the third place finish, Oglethorpe will turn its attentions to the Gordin Collegiate Classic held next weekend held in Durham, North Carolina.
