The Oglethorpe University men's golf JV team recorded a 13th place finish among 21 competing teams at the Chick-fil-A Classic held in Rome, Ga. on October 4th and 5th. In a field sprinkled with Division I, II and NAIA opponets, the Petrels acquitted themselves quite well.
The Petrels entered five freshmen in the field, led by Corey Hall whose two day total of 149 was good for a tie for 26th place individually. Stephen Harris carded a otal of 154 to finish tied for 52nd and Dan Simonson was one stroke behind in a tie for 60th. Patrick Cansfield (159, tied for 78th) and Lewis Gregory (161, tied for 89th) rounded out the Petrels posting scores for the B team. Hayden Jones competed as an individual for Head Coach Jim Owen and recorded a total of 157 which landed him in a tie for 70th place.

The Petrels are back in action this coming Monday and Tuesday when they compete in the prestigious Gordin Classic in North Carolina.
