Petrels Ranked Sixth in Final Poll of Fall Season

The third and final Golf World/Nike Golf Division III Coaches' Poll of the fall season has been released, combining the resources of Golf World magazine, Nike Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) and the Stormy Petrels are ranked No. 6.

Victories at the Ted Keller Invitational and the Greensboro-Gordon Classic propelled Guilford into the top spot of the Division III poll, after being ranked No.7 in the previous coaches' poll. The Quakers received 10 of the 17 first-place votes.

Huntingdon and Methodist remain at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively. Saint John's (Minn.) rose one spot to No. 4 with Greensboro, the previous No. 1, falling to No. 5.

Centre (No. 9) is the lone school to work its way into the top-10. The No. 6 ranking is where Oglethorpe began the fall season. The Petrels slipped to No. 9 before climbing back up to the No. 6 spot heading into the spring.
