The best men's and women's collegiate golfers in the country teed up and completed round two at the 2011 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe. Both the men's and women's squads of Methodist University rose to the top of the leaderboard as the team's head into tomorrow's final round.
The Stormy Petrel men fired a round two total of 299, five strokes better than yesterday, but remain in a tie for 12th place, 24 strokes behind the leading Monarchs. The Oglethorpe women improved their round one total as well by firing a 346 and are also in 12th place. Dona Kioseff is leading the way for the women in a tie for 25th place individually while Eric Quinn paces the men in a tie for 13th overall.

First round action at the men's and women's 2011 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe University is in the books and Centre College leads on the women's side while Transylvania and Illinois Wesleyan are tied atop the leaderboard on the men's side.
The Oglethorpe men carded a team total of 304 and are tied for 14th place, fourteen strokes off the pace. The Stormy Petrel women fired a 353 and sit in 11th place after round one, 31 strokes back of Centre.
The famed event at Jekyll features 21 women's golf teams and 29 men's teams from across the country. Round two action gets underway Saturday morning.
