Methodist Claims Men's and Women's Crowns at 2011 Jekyll

The 2011 Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational hosted by Oglethorpe concluded on Sunday afternoon with the Methodist Monarchs claiming both the men's and women's titles.

The Monarch men held off Emory University by two strokes while the Monarch women cruised to a 23 stroke win over second place Birmingham-Southern.

The Oglethorpe men climbed from T-12th to a tied for 8th place finish by firing a final round team total of 293. The Petrels three-day total of 896 was 25 strokes off the pace set by Methodist. Eric Quinn came home in 10th place as the highest finishing Petrel. For complete men's results, go here.

After performing extremely well in rounds one and two, the Oglethorpe women struggled on Sunday, posting a 366 while drifting back to 15th place. Both Dona Kioseff (T-30th) and Laura Landry (T-34th) recorded Top-35 finishes for the Petrels. For complete women's results, go here.
