Based on statistical analysis provided by Golfstat.com, the immediate future of both the Oglethorpe men's and women's golf programs looks bright. While the men have long since been entrenched inside the Top 10 of the national rankings, the women's team seems poised to join them on the national scene as evidenced by the most recent Golfstat Freshman Class Impact numbers.
The latest Freshman Class Impact analysis, which measures the impact of a team's freshmen in their lineup based on a number of statistical categories, shows the Oglethorpe women in 9th place and the men in 19th place nationally. The women's golf lineup features five freshmen producing an average score of 92.32 to create a relative strength number of 398.96. In translation: the women project to be a Top 10 team in years to come if this freshmen class continues to improve at their current rate.
With seniors and juniors already dominating the lineup, the men appearing in the Top 20 of the Freshman Class Impact numbers only fortifies their future fortunes. The men's lineup features two freshmen producing an average score of 78.15 to create a relative strength number of 308.11.
