  • Men's Golf Uses Final-Round Surge to Shoot into Tie for 12th at Golfweek Invitational

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team carded its best round of the 54-hole Golfweek Division III Fall Invitational on Tuesday in Miramar Beach, Florida, posting a 5-over-par 289 to move three spots up the leaderboard into a tie for 12th to finish the tournament at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort's Raven Golf Club. They finished with an overall score of 37-over 889, putting them 47 strokes back of champions Emory.
  • Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Tartan Invitational

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team finished their week at the Tartan Invitational in Ligonier Township, Pennsylvania, Tuesday with an 18-over-par 306 at the historic Laurel Valley Golf Club, giving them a 52-over 916 for the week and putting them in 10th place out of 12 teams, 43 strokes back of champions Wittenberg. 
  • Arnett Wins Individual Medal at Royal Lakes Invitational, Men's Golf Finishes 13th

    Senior Jacob Arnett of the Oglethorpe men's golf team earned his second individual medal of the fall season Tuesday at the Oglethorpe-Royal Lakes Fall Invitational in Flowery Branch. He posted a 3-under-par 69 at the Royal Lakes Golf and Country Club on Tuesday, finishing the tournament at 8-under 136 to win by three strokes over Tyler Newton of York (Pennsylvania).  The Stormy Petrels finished 13th as a team at the tournament, as they posted a 12-over 300 for the day and came in at 30-over 606 for the tournament. That put them 22 strokes behind a first-place tie between Babson and Greensboro. 
  • Men's Golf 18th in Latest Coaches' Poll

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team dropped one spot to No. 18 in the latest Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll, released Friday by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The Stormy Petrels were ranked 17th in the preseason poll put out by the same organization.
  • Men's Golf Finishes NCAA Fall Preview in 16th Place

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team completed their stay at the NCAA Division III Men's Fall Preview with a 16th-place finish, firing a 14-over-par 302 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at 64-over 928, 62 strokes back of champions Emory. The Stormy Petrels were in tough amidst a stacked tournament field, 12 of the 18 teams competing were ranked in the preseason coaches' poll, and were unable to get untracked over the course of the two days.
  • Men's Golf Set for NCAA Fall Preview, Kicking Fall Season off In Earnest

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team is back in action this weekend at their first major national event of the fall season, the NCAA Division III Men's Fall Preview. That event will take place in Nicholasville, Kentucky, at the Keene Trace Golf Club, home of the 2019 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships.
  • Men's Golf Comes from Six Strokes Back to Tie for First at SAA Fall Preview

    The Oglethorpe men's golf team got the new season off to an outstanding start Sunday at the SAA Fall Preview in Dickson, Tennessee, as they came back from six strokes behind to tie Berry for first place at the 36-hole event at Greystone Golf Club. They shot a 1-under-par 575, finishing with a 1-under 287 in the first round and an even-par 288 in the second.
  • Todd Brooks Named Director of Athletics at Oglethorpe University

    Brooks has been appointed as director of athletics at Oglethorpe University, effective Aug. 27. The former Berry College athletics director brings 30 years of collegiate athletics experience .
