Petrels Lose Tough One to Hendrix, 1-0

The Oglethorpe men's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Hendrix on Friday, giving up a goal in the 83rd minute en route to a 1-0 loss.

The Petrels outshot the visiting Warriors 19-18, but Hendrix was able to cause the Oglethorpe attack problems for most of the game and had the better of the attack in the second half, outshooting Oglethorpe 11-9 in that period. Hendrix put six shots on goal to Oglethorpe's two.

Frank Petersen made five saves, including a brilliant one late in the second half, preseving the 0-0 tie at the time. Nick Williamson fired five shots, two on goal.

The loss drops the Petrels to 7-2 on the season, 1-1 in SAA play. The Petrels will next be in action on Sunday, when they will take on Rhodes. Senior day festivities will preced the game, which will start at approximately 2 p.m.
