Bert Leonard is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and grew up playing youth soccer in Atlanta for the Genesis Soccer Club. He also played for the Atlanta District Amateur Soccer League. He played college soccer for the University of Hartford and for Georgia State University where he received his BA. in British Literature and Teacher Certification for Language Arts. Bert's coaching background is extensive both domestically and internationally. Bert has worked with the Atlanta Fire United Soccer Association and currently is a director for the u-11 Girls Academy program at Roswell Santos SOccer Club. Bert is also entering his second year as an assistant coach with the PDL team the Atlanta Blackhawks. Prior to joining the staff at Oglethorpe, he was an assistant coach for the mens program at Southern Polytechnic State University.  Bert has taken many coaching internships in Norway, England, Holland, and Costa Rica. He attended the Algarve Cup in Portugal with the US Senior Womens National team and was recently called into  their training camp to provide filming and video analysis. Bert is the CEO of Interplay-Sports,USA a video analysis software company.  He consults with USSoccer to support the senior and youth national teams for video analysis as well as the USSoccer Development Academies. Oglethorpe will be using Interplay-sports for video analysis with the coaching staff and players. Currently, Bert holds an "A" license with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and he additionally holds the USSF National Youth License.
