Men's Tennis Easily Dispatches Spartanburg

The Oglethorpe University men's tennis team defeated Spartanburg Methodist on Downing Howell Courts on Friday afternoon, 9-0. The sweep was the second consecutive for the netters.

The doubles duos of Ross Beall-Brad White (8-5), Felix Mann-Bryan Bailey (8-1) and Alex Biffle-Masen Shreve (8-1) each topped their Spartanburg Methodist opponents to win easily.

The Petrels continued their march through the singles matches with Mann (6-2, 6-3), Biffle (6-0, 6-0), Bailey (6-1, 6-0), White (6-0, 3-6, 10-3), Tim Tanko (6-4, 6-4) and Lawrence Sweatman (6-1, 6-2) winning in that order.

The Stormy Petrels are now 5-3 on the season and will face Otterbein in their first spring break match on March 23 at 3:00 p.m.
