Men Top Covenant

The Oglethorpe University men's tennis team topped Covenant College on Downing Howell Courts on Tuesday evening, 7-2. The Petrels jumped on top by taking two of three doubles points and never looked back.

The doubles combos of Felix Mann-Bryan Bailey (8-3) and Brad White-Lawrence Sweatman (8-3) were each victorious while Ross Beall-Alex Biffle (8-3) went down.

In singles, the Petrels won all matches with the exception of No. 5 where Brad White (6-4, 7-5) went down. Mann (6-2, 5-7, 6-1), Beall (6-3, 6-3), Biffle (6-2, 6-1), Bailey (6-3, 6-4) and Tim Tanko (6-1, 6-1) were all winners in their matches.

The Petrels are now 12-7 on the season and will travel to Memphis for four more SCAC matches this weekend beginning with Austin College Friday at 9:00 a.m.
