Hamline Ekes Past Netters in Orlando
Continuing their spring break trip in Orlando, the men's tennis team lost a narrow one to Hamline on Monday morning, 5-4. The Petrels won two of three doubles matches but saw Hamline rally in singles play to victory.
The netters jumped on Hamline for two of three doubles points by claiming rather easy wins at No.'s 2 and 3 doubles. The singles matches, however, were a different story as Hamline got straight sets wins at No.'s 1, 2 and 6 singles. The match wound up hinging on the result at No. 3 and Oglethopre's Kirk Zhao, alas, was bested 6-2, 0-6, 6-3 in three sets to spring Hamline to victory. Complete match results listed below.
The men's netters will continue their Orlando trip tomorrow when they square off with Luther in the morning.
