Oglethorpe senior Bryan Bailey has been named the SAA Men's Tennis Player of the Week for his work last week in the team's 6-0 spring-break trip in Orlando. This is his second time receiving the honor in the last three weeks.
Bailey went 6-0 during the trip, dropping just one set. He garnered wins over Colorado College, Calvin, Grinnell (ranked 13th in the Central region), Ozarks (ranked 17th in the West region), Otterbein and Western New England. He won four matches in the No. 3 slot, and one each at Nos. 1 and 2.
He also contributed in doubles, as his victory with freshman C.J. Antonio clinched the Grinnell dual match, and the pair's 9-7 victory over Ozarks gave the team the lead entering the singles portion of the competition.
Bailey and the rest of the Petrels will travel to Tennessee to take on SAA-favorite Sewanee on Friday at 3 p.m. They will then quickly bus up to Danville, Ky., for a 9 a.m. match with Centre on Saturday.
