The Oglethorpe men's tennis team continued its good run of form lately, making short work of Millsaps, 7-2, Saturday morning on the Downing Howell Courts.
The morning started with the Petrels taking two of three doubles matches, meaning they only had to win half of the six singles matches to clinch victory on the day. Bryan Bailey, who was celebrating his Senior Day Saturday morning, and C.J. Antonio won the No. 2 match, 8-3, while Cedric Andre and Rajiv Dinakaran took the No. 3 match, 8-1.
In the singles portion of the competition, Briton Richardson swept away his opponent at No. 6, winning 6-0, 6-0. When Antonio won the No. 2 match 6-3, 6-2, the Petrels found themselves up 4-1, just one match away from victory.
Victory came on the racquet of Bailey. The senior rightfully clinched the dual match on Senior Day, winning 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3.
After the clinch, Ben Hirsch and Kirk Zhao collected additional wins. Hirsch won his match at No. 5: 6-2, 6-3. Meanwhile, Zhao took down the No. 4 match 6-2, 6-0.
The win improves the Petrels to 14-4, 3-1 in conference play. They'll be back in action tomorrow morning against Birmingham-Southern. The dual match gets underway at 9 a.m.
