Coach Spiro Announces 2011 Track Captains

Oglethorpe head men's and women's track and field coach Jan Spiro announced his team captains for the 2011 competitive season and seniors Courtney Craig and Evan Britton have been selected to lead their respective squads.

Craig, who hails from Dothan, Ala., is one of the top throwers in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Britton, of Smyrna, Ga., is a top all-around athlete who will compete in multiple events for coach Spiro.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled that Courtney and Evan have agreed to accept these positions," said Spiro. "Not only are they terrific athletes, but they are campus leaders and people of the highest quality making them invaluable to the team this coming season."

The 2011 Track and Field season gets underway on February 5 when the men's and women's team travel to to Sewanee for the annual Tiger Meet.
