Cross Country Shows Strength at Southern Challenge
Oglethorpe's men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Southern Challenge Cross Country meet hosted by Chattahoochee-Tech this past Saturday morning. The men's 8k and women's 5k were run over the very hilly Wildwood course in Marietta. The men finished 5th out of 10 teams while the women finished 6th out of 10 teams.
Oglethorpe had 3 individual medalists: senior Enrique Sanchez
finished 3rd overall, junior Luis Zimbron finished
15th and sophomore Beth Cleary finished
12th in the women's race. Rounding out the scoring
and finishes for the men were Isaac Barron, Jay Russell, Ellis
Jones, Sean Lovett, Alex Van Zandt, Tony Golden and Brandon
Morse. Following Cleary in the women's race were Avery
Livingston, Bekky Strom, Sherry Blystone, Sarah Foster, Michelle
Chelemer, April Tolley and Chelsea Couch.
The teams will next compete on Saturday, October 17th
when they host the Annual Stormy Petrel Cross Country Classic on
the campus course. The men's 8k will be at 9:00 a.m. and
the women's 5k will be at 10 a.m.
