Sanchez Wins University of the South Invitational

Junior Enrique Sanchez won the Sewanee Tiger Twilight Cross Country Invitational on Friday.  Sanchez led all finishers with a time of 27:04 over the 8k course atop Monteagle, TN.  Luis Zimbron finished second for Oglethorpe.  Freshman Matthew Bryant finished third.  Sophomore Robert Cairns continues to slash time from his earlier performances.

In the women's race, freshman Beth Cleary finished the 6k (3.728 miles) in 26:06.  Her pace in the race moved her to 14th on the All-Time Best List for an Oglethorpe woman.  She was followed by sophomore Michelle Chelemer and first year runners Bianca Hernould, Annie Morgan, Armanda Colson and Lauren Hunt.

The teams next travel to race against Oglethorpe Alumnus, Steve Prettyman's ('79) coached Chattahoochee-Tech harriers on Saturday, October 11th.
