Harriers Begin Hitting Stride at Berry Invitational
Running closer to full strength, the Oglethorpe cross country teams showed well at the Berry College Invitational in Rome on Saturday. All Oglethorpe runners dropped time off their last race benefitting from weather more conducive to distance racing.
The women finished in 11th place and the men in 14th place amongst the 16 competing schools.
Donyale Greenwell finished first for the Lady Petrels. She was followed by Katy Galli, Tirzah Brown , Khadija Nisar and Dona Kioseff. David Whitson finished first for the men. He was followed by Robbie Capps, Luq Mohammed, Allen Griner, Michael Caneega, Alan Luvianos and Daniel Reveles.
Coach Unger is encouraged by the rapid improvement the teams have demonstrated and hopeful that all runners will be healthy for the Chattanooga Cross Country Challenge on Saturday, September 24 which will be run at Chicamauga Dam.
