Lady Petrels Topped by Thomas More

The Oglethorpe University women's basketball team lost to Thomas More College on their campus in Florence, Kentucky on Sunday afternoon, 82-56. The Stormy Petrels could not shake off 30 turnovers and a tough day shooting the ball from the field (33%) in the loss to the undefeated Saints.

In addition to their struggles from the field, Oglethorpe connected on only 1 of 14 three-point attempts and were outrebounded by the Saints 53-39.
 
Freshman Katie Weeks led the Petrels in scoring with 13 on the afternoon and fellow freshman Sarah Giles scored 9 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Mareva Bone continued her steady play with 10 points and 4 rebounds in the loss to the highly regarded Thomas More squad.
 
Oglethorpe is now 2-2 on the season and will return home to face Agnes Scott College this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. on Pinholster Court.
