Dale Boosts NCAA Profile With 3rd Place at The Orchard

Oglethorpe University women's golfer Katie Dale of Peachtree City, Georgia finished in third place as an individual at the 2010 Orchard Spring Invitational hosted by Piedmont College. The third place result bolsters Dale's candidacy to compete in the 2010 NCAA Championships hosted by Oglethorpe.

Dale fired successive rounds of 86-81 for a two-day total of 167, just three strokes behind tournament medalist Andrea Daly of Methodist. The round two 81 that Dale posted was low round of the day and moved her substantially up the leaderboard in her quest to compete at the NCAA Championships in May in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida hosted by the Stormy Petrels.

Oglethorpe did not record a team score as senior Jessica Fuson was the only other Stormy Petrel in the field. Fuson came home in 37th place.

The Stormy Petrels will be back in action March 19-21 at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational which the Oglethorpe golf programs also host.
