Dale Named Division III All-America Scholar

Oglethorpe University women's golfer Katie Dale of Peachtree City, Ga. has been selected as a 2010 Division III National Golf Coaches Association of America (NGCA) All-American Scholar. She is one of only 71 Division III female golfers nationwide to receive the honor and has earned the distinction for the fourth consecutive year.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and the student-athletes must have competed in at least 66% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.

Dale graduated from Oglethorpe University in May with a B.A. in Science and Art. She completed her independently planned double-major in Biology and Art with a 3.94 cumulative GPA. This past fall, Dale earned medalist honors at the 2009 Rhodes Fall Classic after posting successive rounds of 80-77 to best forty-two other golfers in the field. In April she was named to the All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Golf First Team for the fourth straight year. She has been accepted to attend the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where she plans to study medical illustration.

The National Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. Today, the NGCA represents nearly 500 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
