The women's golf team finished in 10th place at the 2011 Chick-fil-A Classic held in Rome, Georgia on Monday and Tuesday. In a field featuring several D-I counterparts, the young Petrels continue to show signs of rapid improvement.
Playing at the Coosa Country Club in Rome, Georgia, the Petrels were led by sophomore Tori Van wyen who carded a two-day total of 173 to finish in 29th place. Fellow sophomore Chelsea Gatterdam was one stroke off Van Wyen's pace and came home in a tie for 30th while freshmen Laurin Halstead, Erin McPhee and Jordan Krahn turned in finishes of 56th, 58th, and 66th.
