Lady Petrels Capture Eighth at Rhodes Fall Classic

The women's golf team finished the Rhodes Fall Classic in 8th place on Tuesday evening. Playing at the Cottonwoods Golf Course in Tunica, Miss., the Petrels fired a two-day total of 711 to finish 74 shots back of tournament winner Centre College.

As she has at each fall event, sophomore Tori Van Wyen led the charge for Oglethorpe with a total of 171 to come home in 26th place. Freshman Jordan Krahn turned in two steady rounds to finish with a total of 175 in a tie for 34th while sophomore Chelsea Gatterdam was one stroke back of Krahn in 37th. Freshman Erin McPhee carded a 189 to finish in a tie for 44th while Edda Bjarndottir came home in 51st.

The young Petrels squad enjoyed a solid fall season that included a 7th (Eat a Peach), an 8th (Rhodes Classic), a 10th (Chick-fil-A) and a 12th place (BSC Shootout) result. Oglethorpe is back in action this spring.
