Women's Golfers Score 6th Place Finish at SCAC Championships

The women's golf team continued the program's steady improvement with a cast of freshmen and sophomores that captured a 6th place finish at the 2012 SCAC Championships held in Tunica Resorts in Mississpippi this weekend.

Sophomore Chelsea Gatterdam led the charge by posting the low round of the day in Sunday's final round to rapidly ascend the leaderboard and finish in 13th place. Her 249 total missed making the All-SCAC First Team by just two strokes.

Freshman Jordan Krahn proved her mettle by coming home in 19th place with a total of 252. Teammate Tori Van Wyen posted a 259 for the three-day event and finished in a tie for 24th to give the Petrels three golfers inside the top 25. Freshman Erin McPhee rounded out the Petrel scoring with a 30th place result after carding a total of 278.

With valuable experience beneath their belts, the women's program will look to continue to make strides next season when they join the Southern Athletic Association.
