Petrels Beat Lady Scots in 2009 Debut

The Petrels got an unassisted goal from sophomore Lexi Vassell to get on the board in the second half. Then, with 15 minutes remaining in the game, a driving Shannon Dougherty fed freshman Courtney Phillips a cross that Phillips one-touched into the back of the net for the deciding goal.
 
The Petrels were also lifted by the return of Kristen Koch to the pitch after missing successive seasons with knee injuries.
 
At 1-0 on the young season, Oglethorpe returns to Salamone Field to face Spelman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday in the women's home opener.
