The women's soccer team lost to Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas on Friday night, 3-0. The Petrels faced an uphill battle all evening long after the Warriors jumped in front less than two minutes into the contest en route to victory.
It was at the 1:47 mark of the first half when the Warriors' Mel Roach broke free for a one-on-one with Petrel keeper Elia Breijo that Roach finished in the left corner of the goal to give Hendrix the early lead.
Hendrix built on the lead just 5 minutes prior to the half on a strike from Kacey Hight. The Warriors finished the scoring in the 56th minute on a tally from Rebecca Rahn.
Hendrix controlled the pace throughout, cracking 25 shots to the Petrels 7. The Warriors put 14 of those chances on target, eleven of which Breijo saved.
The Petrels are now 1-6-1 on the season and will return home for a non-conference tilt with LaGrange College this Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. on Salamone Field.
