Lady Petrels Lose to Piedmont, 2-0

The Oglethorpe women's soccer team lost 2-0 to cross-state rival Piedmont Tuesday evening, falling to 2-4 on the season.

The Lady Petrels played well in the first half, but wound up with nothing to show for it when they gave up a goal in the 44th minute. They went into the halftime break down 1-0. Piedmont started to assert themselves in the second half, and they scored the goal to salt the game away in the 71st minute.

The Lady Petrels were outshot by the Lions 20-6, 6-2 on goal. Oglethorpe goalkeeper Sarah Craig came up with three saves in the second half to keep them down by only a goal before leaving with an injury.

The Lady Petrels will next be in action Saturday at 2 p.m., when they will take on Sewanee in their first-ever SAA contest.
