Lady Netters Swept by Methodist

The Oglethorpe University women's tennis team lost to the Methodist College Monarchs on Downing Howell Courts on Sunday afternoon, 9-0. Despite the sweep, Oglethorpe took five of the singles matches to a first set tiebreaker before eventually falling.

The doubles combination of Sarah Beth Britt and Molly Colvard fought valiantly before losing 8-6. In the singles matches, Jayme Danielson, Kimberly O'Dell, Sarah Duff, Britt and Colvard each lost heartbreak first sets before the Monarchs were able to close out the match.

The Petrels are now 1-1 on the season and will face Spelman this Friday on Downing Howell Courts at 3:00 p.m.
