Lady Netters Fall to Covenant

The Oglethorpe University women's tennis team lost to Covenant College on Downing Howell Courts on Tuesday afternoon, 7-1.

Covenant swept the doubles competition and then held on in some tight singles matches to earn the win. The doubles duos of Alison Burt-Sarah Beth Britt (8-5), Molly Colvard-Jayme Danielson (8-5) and Kayla Atkins-LaDonna Barnes (8-2) each went down despit putting up spirited fights.

In singles, Danielson (6-3, 6-3) was able to earn a victory while Britt (6-4, 6-2), Colvard (7-5, 6-1), O'Dell (6-3, 6-3) and Duff (6-2, 6-4) each fell. Alison Burt's match at No. 4 was not completed.

The women are now 5-13 on the season and will travel to Memphis this weekend for four matches against SCAC foes.
