'Roo's Top Lady Netters, 7-2
The women's tennis team lost to Austin College on Downing Howell Courts on Saturday morning, 7-2. The 'Roo's eked out a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles and carried their 3-0 lead into singles to earn the win.
The Petrels managed to score a point from Jayme Danielson at No. 1 singles (W, 6-4, 6-3) and also from No. 5 Clara Reinheimer (W, 6-4, 6-1) but could not overcome the 'Roo's general strength from top to bottom. Austin entered today's competition ranked as the No. 14 squad in the West Region.
Undefeated Caffrey Francis had to sit out the singles competition due to injury and her unbeaten streak on the season remains intact. Complete Austin match results included below.
The women are now 6-10 on the season and will battle Birmingham-Southern on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. on Downing Howell Courts.
