Colorado College Beats Women's Tennis, 7-2

The Oglethorpe women's tennis team lost the first dual match of its spring break trip Sunday afternoon, falling to former SCAC rival Colorado College 7-2.

MaryAnne Hafen and Kate Siess won the No. 2 doubles match for the Lady Petrels 8-2, but the Lady Tigers took the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead entering the singles portion. 

In the singles, Hafen again came through, winning the No. 3 singles slot 6-2, 6-3. In the No. 1 match, Katherine Walker went three sets with her opponent, but fell in the third set super-tiebreak 6-2, 2-6, 10-8. 

The Lady Petrels lost the remainder of the singles matches, though, leading to the 7-2 defeat.

The loss drops the Lady Petrels to 1-6 on the season. They'll be back in action tomorrow in Orlando, playing Grinnell at 1:30 p.m.
