Oglethorpe University freshman outside hitter Anna Marie Disalvo has been selected as a member of the 2011 All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Third Team.
Disalvo, who played at Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida, enjoyed a spectacular debut collegiate season, pacing the Stormy Petrels in every major statistical category.
Disalvo demonstrated her prowess by leading the Oglethorpe squad in sets played (103), kills (381), hitting percentage (.183) and service aces (37). She also ranked second on the team in digs (312) and fourth in blocks (27). Additionally, her 3.7 kills per game average ranked second overall in the entire 12-institution conference.
The selection of postseason awards was handled by exclusive all-conference voting by the head coaches of the SCAC.
