The Oglethorpe volleyball team dropped the second of its two weekend SAA matches Sunday, losing at Centre, 3-1 (26-24, 25-20, 21-25, 25-19).
As it frequently is, the first set proved to be a key to the match on Sunday. The two teams were tied 21-21, 22-22, 23-23 and 24-24, but Centre was able to win the final two points of the set to take it, 26-24.
That proved to be a big turning point, as Centre went on to win the second set by the score of 25-20. Oglethorpe won the third set, 25-21, but Centre closed them out in the fourth, 25-19.
The Lady Petrels will next be in action Wednesday evening, when they will take on Brewton-Parker at 6 p.m.
