Women's Cross Country Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association of America announced their 2009 All-Academic teams and the Oglethorpe University women's cross country team was named a recipient.

For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum 3.10 team cumulative grade point average.

The Oglethorpe University women's team compiled a grade point average of 3.18 to join a total of 153 Division III women's programs received the USTFCCCA's All-Academic Team honors this year. Whitworth University had the highest overall team grade point average (3.73).

The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference led all conferences with a total of ten schools on the All-Academic team list. The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, which Oglethorpe competes in, and New England Small College Athletic Conference followed closely behind, each with nine schools earning All-Academic honors.
