The NCAA selected Oglethorpe University to co-host two of the organization's Division III national championship events Tuesday. The university will host the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship and the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Championships in conjunction with the Central Florida Sports Commission (CFSC).
The 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship will be held at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, and will mark the third time that Oglethorpe and the CFSC will collaborate to host the event. The two organizations will co-host the same event at Mission Inn this May, and also collaborated at the same site in 2012.
The 2022 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Tennis Championships are set to take place at the USTA (United States Tennis Association) National Campus in Orlando. This will mark the second time that Oglethorpe has hosted a Division III tennis championship, and the first time that they're collaborating with the CFSC to do so. The university co-hosted the 2009 women's championship in conjunction with the Gwinnett Sports Commission. That event took place at Collins Hill Athletic Club in Lawrenceville.
"We're pleased to partner with the Central Florida Sports Commission with these opportunities to co-host the two NCAA championships in 2022," said Oglethorpe Director of Athletics Becky Hall. "We have a great support system of staff, friends of the program, and others that work hard during championships, and these will be no different. We're looking forward to 2022!"
In addition to those two events and this year's men's golf championship, Oglethorpe and the CFSC will co-host the 2018 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship at Mission Inn, marking the fourth time the two organizations will host the women's golf nationals at the resort's El Campeon course. The two previously co-hosted the 2011, 2014 and 2015 events.
