Fall teams compete in SAA Championships this weekend

Four teams will compete in their respective SAA championship events on Saturday, with men's and women's cross country, and men's and women's soccer taking part at locations around the southeastern United States.

The men's and women's cross country teams head in-state to Mount Berry for the SAA Cross Country Championships Saturday morning. The men's 8-kilometer race gets started at 10 a.m. and the women's 6-kilometer is set for 11 a.m. The men's team enters the meet holding down the No. 5 ranking in the South/Southeast region and will look to follow up on their second-place finish at the 2018 event. The women's team looks to improve on their fifth-place finish at the 2017 event, which served as the program's best-ever SAA finish. The Petrels hold the No. 5 ranking in the South Atlantic region, as well, and will be hoping for the third NCAA tournament berth in program history. If they get through the Warriors, the Stormy Petrels will host the final two rounds of the SAA Men's Soccer Championship on Friday, Nov. 8, and Sunday, Nov. 10.
