Men's Tennis Ranked in Regional Top 10 after Fall Season

The Oglethorpe men's tennis team featured prominently in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Atlantic South rankings for the fall season, earning the 10th position in the newly-released pecking order this week. It marks the fourth consecutive year that the Stormy Petrels have been regionally ranked after the fall season.

The Petrels were also ranked No. 10 at the conclusion of the 2016 spring season after taking a share of their first-ever conference regular season title in April.

Emory took the top spot in the rankings, followed by Carnegie Mellon in second, Johns Hopkins in third, Swarthmore in fourth, and Mary Washington in fifth. Christopher Newport, Sewanee, Washington and Lee, North Carolina Wesleyan, and the Petrels rounded out the top 10.

The Petrels will get their spring season underway Feb. 23 on the Downing Howell Courts, when they take on in-state opponent Piedmont at 3:30 p.m.
