The Oglethorpe women's tennis team fell to No. 2 seed Centre 5-0 in the first round of the SAA Tournament Friday afternoon at the Adams Tennix Complex in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The seventh-seeded Stormy Petrels saw their season end with an 8-8 overall record.

The top-line doubles pairing of junior Hannah Dattilo and senior Shannon Cruz were competitive against the No. 1 Colonel tandem, but fell 8-5. Senior Delaney Abood and sophomore Lisette Phillips fell 8-4 at No. 3 doubles, while senior Charlotte Disley and junior Ela Bielicki dropped their No. 2 match 8-3.

Down 3-0 headed to singles, the Petrels faced an uphill climb. They were unable to mount any sort of rally. Disley fell 6-0, 6-0 in her No. 3 match while Cruz lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, clinching the match for the Colonels.

The Petrels finished the season ranked 17th in the Atlantic South region, both by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) and the NCAA. Dattilo finished her season as the 22nd-ranked singles player in the Atlantic South, according to the ITA rankings.
